Fundus Photography allows us to take a photograph of the inner surface of the eye, including the retina, optic disc, macula and posteriot pole (i.e. the fundus). The photographs are analysed by our Optometrist, aiding diagnosis and monitoring of any eye disease. Photographs are also very helpful in explaining certain eye conditions such as glaucoma, macular degenaration and genetic disorders as these can be visualised. Fundoscopy provides photo documentation for future reference and provides the opportunity for any photographs to be passed on to an Eye Specialist for analysis even before the patient is seen.
